In every society there are rules and someone who leads the group. In the same way, in nature there is the female or male Alpha, who holds the highest rank of the pack. Through different families of wolves, deer, rhinos and lions we will discover that the Alpha is the one that dominates the group, being the first to feed and reproduce. But being a leader is much more than taking power through the use of force. This role also entails some obligations: protecting the group, leading it in its journeys and hunting strategies … Being an Alpha implies responsibility, leadership, and cultural transmission. A leader is responsible for the success of the pack or its extinction.
